What counts as a "normal" cycle?
Length, flow, pain — and the moments that are worth a GP visit.

The honest answer: a wide range
A "normal" cycle is anywhere from 21 to 35 days between bleeds, with a period that lasts 2 to 7 days. Yours is probably consistent within that window.
What is NOT normal
- Bleeding so heavy you flood through clothes
- Periods lasting longer than 8 days
- Bleeding between periods or after sex
- Pain that stops you working, studying or sleeping
These deserve a GP appointment — they can be signs of fibroids, endometriosis, polyps or hormone imbalance.
Track to see your pattern
Once you have 3 cycles logged, you start to see your own normal — which makes the abnormal much easier to spot.
