Will you sell my cycle data to advertisers, like Flo did?

Accepted Answer

No. In 2021 the US FTC settled with Flo Health over allegations it shared menstrual and pregnancy data with Facebook, Google and other third parties through their advertising SDKs. We have read that settlement carefully and built differently. MenstrualBae has no Meta Pixel, no Google Analytics, no TikTok Pixel and no advertising SDKs anywhere in the app. We do not sell, rent or share your health data with advertisers, data brokers, insurers or employers — full stop. Question 2

What exactly do you collect, and what's optional?

Accepted Answer

Required: just an email and a nickname so you can sign in. Optional but useful: your age range, country and life stage so we can tailor what the app shows you. Everything else — symptom logs, BBT, mood, cycle assessments, Health GPS chats — is only stored if you choose to log it. You can use the app and log nothing if you want to.

Can someone subpoena my period data? What if abortion becomes restricted where I live?

Accepted Answer

We will only ever disclose data when legally compelled by a valid UK court order, and we will tell you unless the order specifically gags us from doing so. Your data is hosted in the EU under UK and EU GDPR, not in the US. We collect the minimum needed and you can delete everything from your account page at any time — which means there is nothing left for anyone to subpoena.

Does the AI (Health GPS) learn from my data?

Accepted Answer

No. When you use Health GPS your symptom and answers are sent to a large language model via the Lovable AI Gateway to generate your summary. The model provider is contractually prohibited from using your inputs to train their models. We do not send your email or nickname alongside the content, and we do not use your data to train any models of our own.

Can I export and permanently delete everything?

Accepted Answer

Yes. From your account page you can export your data and permanently delete your account. When you delete, your profile, symptom logs, assessments and posts are removed within 30 days, and rotate out of encrypted backups within 90 days.

Is MenstrualBae just another period tracker?

Accepted Answer

No. We track symptoms in the way doctors actually ask about them, and we adapt across life stages — from first periods to menopause. Most period trackers stop at calendar prediction; we keep going.

Who is it for?

Accepted Answer

Anyone with a cycle (or who used to have one). We tailor the app for teens, regular cycling, trying-to-conceive, pregnancy, postpartum, and perimenopause / menopause.

Question 8

Can teenagers use it?

Accepted Answer

Yes — from age 13. Teen mode uses softer language, hides intimate-health questions by default, and focuses on learning what's normal. We recommend a parent or guardian help with setup for under-16s. We do not knowingly process data from under-13s.

Question 9

What if I'm trying to conceive?

Accepted Answer

Switch to TTC mode in your profile. You'll get fertile-window predictions and can log BBT, cervical mucus, and ovulation / pregnancy tests.

Is it safe to use during pregnancy?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Pregnancy mode swaps in week-by-week tracking, kick counts from 28 weeks, and clearer red-flag prompts. It is not a substitute for midwife or obstetric care.

Is this medical advice?

No. MenstrualBae helps you understand your body and prepare for conversations with clinicians. Always speak to a qualified health professional about your symptoms, especially in an emergency.

The core app is free. Some advanced features may move behind a paid plan in future — we'll always tell you what's free and what isn't. We are funded by subscriptions, never by selling data.
